"I wanted to Illustrate a character or person more than simply the sugar skull associated with the festival. The festival itself is based on remembering dead family and friends, and I felt doing this would make the design more personal. I used a limited colour pallet based on the Mexican flag and worked drawing in ink then colouring digitally, this style was inspired by my passion for skateboard graphics."
